Green Power

“Green Power” is the newest poster in the collection. It is the epitome of Ken Zier’s paintings from the west coast, where a fleeting moment when light breaks through the wave is captured. It is when the sea hits the shore that it is truly clear how powerful and fragile it is. “Green Power” was painted with inspiration from the dramatic Danish west coast in Thy, where Ken Zier has a summer house.

Good morning Ebeltoft

Although Ebeltoft is known for its beautiful sunsets over the bay, it is now the morning light breaking out from the east that Ken Zier has worked with in the new Ebeltoft poster.  “Goodmorning Ebeltoft” is a tribute to 5 fantastic mornings in the minutes after the sun has just broken out.

Kalø Vig

A hike to Kalø castle ruins is a popular excursion destination all year round. On this clear, quiet winter evening, Zier is now pulled a little away from the hiking trail. Hidden behind the thicket with a view of the low southern winter sun.

Lyngby Thy

The latest addition is “Havet ved verdens ende LYNGBY THY”. In 2022-2023, Ken worked on the project “Havet ved verdens ende” (The Sea at the End of the World). The project is based in Thy National Park, and the area around the small town of Lyngby near the west coast, where Ken and his wife bought a summer house in 2019. The project unfolds in the book “Havert ved verdens ende” through 37 works. These works are linked in the project’s book publication with small philosophical bubbles written by Ken’s wife, Berit Køneke. The project also contains a musical dimension in the form of an LP.

Son-in-law, composer and bassist, Emil Zier Christensen, together with the musician Magnus Munk Tækker, has composed a piece of Nordic fusion jazz on the theme.

Klitmøller

“COLD HAW IN KLITMØLLER”: In autumn 2019, Ken Zier bought an old fisherman’s cabin in the small village of Lyngby in Thy. Ken has since been inspired by the dramatic nature and the powerful weather that is characteristic of the North Sea. The poster is a result of Ken Zier’s fascination and love for the raw and ever-changing sea in this part of Denmark.

Postcards

The Ebeltoft Vig, Begtrup Vig and Aarhus Bugten posters are a part of a triology made in 2020. In the spring of 2020, Ken Zier’s works should have been a part of a larger exhibition in the local area where he lives. The exhibition was, like much else at the time, canceled. The theme was “travel letter”, and in this connection Ken had created a work consisting of three large scale postcards from the local area. The exhibition was canceled like much else in 2020, but the “postcards” became three posters: Ebeltoft Vig, Begtrup Vig and Aarhus Bugten

The posters are printed in two sizes: 50x70 cm and 70x100 cm. If you are interested in buying a poster, send an email to kenzierart@outlook.com.
